shoot.eddies.track.track_eddies(eddies, nback)[source]#

Track eddies across time steps

Parameters:
  • eddies (EvolEddies2D) – Detections at several time steps. The time interval should preferably be constant.

  • nback (int) – Number of backward time steps for eddy tracking. Typically around 10 days for satellite altimetry and 1 or 2 days for numerical simulations.

Returns:

Tracks object with eddy trajectories.

Return type:

Tracks
